Pre-Launch

Wow! It’s been quite a busy holiday season and new year! As most of you know in December 2012 we revealed our strategic departure date of February 23rd, 2013 and also our support needed to reach that goal. On December 30th we had the opportunity to visit Living Stones Church in Raleigh NC which was a blast and we were moved by the encouragement we received. In January we visited Forest Park Church in Elizabeth City, N.C. and it’s always great to visit a church where we feel so at home and great to meet with and hear a message from Pastor Scott Neal. In both these visits we were blessed with great encouragement and support as well as excited to meet with so many in the congregation and staff that have a heart for missions and even Peru specifically! Financially God began to move mountains and well, we have news . . . . .

On February 27th, 2013 we will officially be leaving Cleveland, Ohio and beginning our journey to Peru! We will be driving out to Atlanta, Georgia where we will fly to Lima, Peru on March 19th, 2013!

Before leaving for Peru, though, we will be visiting two key churches in our support, Revolution 22 and The Pursuit, both in Boise, I.D.! We can’t wait to see you guys!

Through the support of many of you and others God has raised the funding necessary for us to take our initial steps in Peru. We are so excited to be getting started and cannot wait to be on the ground in Lima! Thank you for supporting us and making this possible!

But wait, there’s a catch . . .

In March we will move temporarily to Lima as a show of faith and to begin researching our ministry opportunities in Peru. While we are very excited to be underway in launching our ministry, we are unable to make the permanent move at this time. We will be living with family while in Peru and continue in our support raising efforts. We still fall short more than 50% of our monthly needs, and lack the proper savings to launch all but the most modest projects in Peru. It is with your help that we have reached this point where we can travel to Peru, build relationships, and begin to investigate ministry opportunities. We need your help in spreading our story, in committing to God’s work in Peru through prayer and financially!

Please pray and think over how you might be able to help. Can you support monthly? Could you spread the word, sharing our story on Facebook or your small group? Can you make a one-time gift? Do you know a local charity or church that supports missions abroad? We are falling short, especially in monthly support where we currently are short the support needed to: rent an apartment/house, send the kids to school, pay utilities, and more. We can only be effective in ministry if we are able to devote ourselves to ministry. We are willing and able to gain employment in Peru, but at what cost? The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few, how can we then not devote ourselves fully to the work? Even small monthly commitments can make all the difference, 100 individuals giving $20 per month (2 trips to Starbucks) goes a long way and a few churches committing just a few hundred dollars per month can do the same.

We are extremely thankful and cannot express enough how blessed we feel by the support that you have given to us. It is through your support that we can take these first steps. With your help in July, 2013 we will return to the U.S. to finish final preparations to officially launch our ministry, a Grand Opening per se, in August, 2013!

As Giuliana likes to say, the financial part of raising support is necessary “and that’s just how the cookie crumbles.” Here are the numbers in black and white:

· Ambassadors Football Peru Yearly Need – $32,500 minimum

· Current yearly commitments received – $8,000

· Shortfall – $24,500

The numbers above reflect the needs for Ambassadors Football Peru to function in ministry in Peru including our family expenses and ministry budget. Again, this is a minimum that will cover many small day to day projects but would not cover large events or projects. The current yearly commitments include monthly and yearly donations made to our project through Ambassadors office in Cleveland, Ohio. It is important to note as well that the $32,500 does not include costs associated with schooling for Eli and Ale. Education in Peru is private and expensive with entrance fees of thousands of dollars and hundreds of dollars in monthly fees. If you would like more information on schooling and the details of the expenses for Ale and Eli to attend school in Peru feel free to email us.

Looking forward to sending out a blog during our trip and another video soon as you get to see our arrival in Lima! Thanks again to those that have made these initial steps possible, we can’t wait to begin our ministry this March!

God Bless,

Matt, Giuliana, Eli, and Ale
